From Preface: A few words by way of explanation seem necessary in offering to the world such a work as this. First, then, let it be fully understood that all the dreamlife of Orlow the dreamer is absolutely authentic, and is an accurate account of real visions that a person still living has obtained. It has been necessary for obvious reasons, to disguise the waking life of the dreamer under a veil of fiction; only in her sleeping experiences must this narrative be taken literally. It is left to the reader to decide for himself weather she has had a glimpse of some dawning revelations, or has merely attained a most unusual sequence and coherence in her dreams. She argues that with her limitations that would be impossible.
