Light and Dark In The Voice Of The Silence – David Bruce

Online presentation

Two years before her death, H. P. Blavatsky published a small book called The Voice of the Silence. Since its initial publication in 1889, this marvelous work has become a true theosophical classic. Most presentations on it focus on the teachings presented therein, while the beauty of its language, which is one big reason for its enduring popularity, is largely ignored. This presentation by David Bruce aims to rectify that oversight by exploring in great detail the literary beauty of this treasured theosophical text.

David Bruce is the Director of Education for the Theosophical Society in America and has worked full time at its national center in Wheaton Illinois since 2003. He regularly gives lectures and workshops to theosophical groups across the country. When he is not traveling, he supervises the Theosophical Society’s prison outreach program which provides free correspondence courses to prisoners who work with volunteer mentors provided by the Society. Prior to working for the Theosophical Society, David worked for 23 years in the industrial electronics industry, including four years for Motorola Semiconductor. For relaxation, he enjoys working out at the gym and reading books on history and biography.
